Saturday, October 23, 2004 I was so careless and tired until i locked myself outside my room, with my keys in the room! nearly cried because of the feeling of despair and anxiety. tried to pick the lock with all sorts of methods, from using cards to wire to hairpin and to screwdriver... all to no avail. even thought of climbing out to the balcony from neighbour's windown and tried to pry open my room window... as well as to smash the upper window above my door to climb in... i was on the verge of getting crazy. as i was about to lose hope, i decided to call the landlord. last time they told me that they do not have any spare key at all. so i was waiting for the worst, like smashing down the door or something.. to my surprise, they HAVE a spare key, indeed... but they scolded me for being careless... i admitted it was my fault to leave both my sparekey and masterkey in the room.. but it dawned on me that they have been cheating as well. anyway, this shall be my lesson to remind myself not to be careless again... yiduan, wake up! posted at 22:34
Came to Harrods and witnessed the richness of certain strata of the society. Harrods is full of people, both the rich people who spend without thinking, as well as those poor ones who just came in to have a look around. Looking at some children enjoying a 14 pound icecream, i felt i was so poor suddenly. i could not even afford the cheapest snack there. and they ordered a second helping. wow... Does not feel any attachment or likeness to harrods. did not feel belonged to there. i guessed, i m still just a girl from a small town. and i just want a simple life. posted at 22:30
Went strolling around the area of Fulham, in drizzling rain. Discovered that this area is full of places of "healing", from chiropractor, physiotheraphy, acupunturist, to even centre of mind/soul healing... not to say more pharmacies... as well as centre of machine repair (considered healing too rite..?) as we walked along the street, noticed that everything seems to be decorated with taste of art, with such delicacy... the buildings are neatly arranged and harmoniously painted in cream colour paint, with the ornaments and designs painstakingly decorated. the shophouses consisted mostly of art centre, pottery art, paintings, etc... and there is even an art school... i wondered whether this is the living of the people there.. went into a mind/soul healing centre, and felt as if there is a halo above my head when we came out. :-P i think if i live here, probably i might get a bit more artistic, hihi... like this town very much, especially the atmosphere of serenity and trainquility. if i have the MONEY, i might consider staying here. (checked the rental here... just like central london price.. walau eh...) posted at 22:24
Taiwanese Food Fair at Parsons Green Today went to a Taiwanese Food Fair at Parsons Green. It's overwhelming to see so many chinese people coming from all over london to join this food fair. I bet the english people must be surprised to see waves and waves of people streaming out from the tube station, mostly chineses. There are about 20 stalls selling all sorts of taiwanese food and snacks and refreshment. surprisingly enough, I bumped into an LSE stall as well as UCL stall. but the ones that gave me more impact are those from University of Bath, and some Golf Club people... The varieties of food just awed me... gobbled down some bihun from LSE (just to show support), and ate the 割包, 韭菜盒子, 沙茶羊肚, 酸梅汤, 妈妈润饼 ... also saw lots of other small snacks like 珍珠奶茶, 肉棕, 凉面, 冰糖葫芦, 鲁肉.... among all the snacks, i think i like the 割包 the most, but the 羊肚 is quite a 'surprise' to me cuz i have never eaten any intestines before... a bit 'geli' but managed to eat them... certainly a wonderful event, especially being able to see so many chineses and hear mandarin spoken for a whole afternoon. :-) posted at 22:10

Tuesday, October 19, 2004 Can feel the tension in ULUBUDA. I think everyone is tired. Clashes of time of events happened. exco's turnout rate is low, morale is low, meetings are too frequent, communication is bad. Finger pointing started, blaming might follows soon. i m sad at this scenario. i remembered the last time when i first joined, it was a nice time to spend with the members. now things changed. I might have to bring up the problem i see in dividing into subgroups soon. Why they can't understand that if we Dont have ENOUGH number of member, it is a BAD idea to divide further into smaller groups? sigh. i m getting crazy by ulubuda. still to settle the claims and treasurer account posted at 20:21
